Sydney Masonic Centre (SMC) provides a convenient and state-of-the-art function centre located in the heart of Sydney, Australia.

Built in the 'brutalist' style which features striking geometric angles and exposed concrete and timber textures that was popular from 1950s to 1970s, it provides a modern and stylish centre for your next function or conference in Sydney.

Getting there

We have taken all of your needs into account, from venue comforts to accessibility. The SMC Conference & Function Centre building entrance is located at 66 Goulburn Street. The Centre is a short stroll from both Museum and Central Stations.  See you there!


TRAVELLING BY AIR

The venue lies only 7.3 kilometres from Sydney Airport, Australia’s busiest. The airport itself is located approximately 6 kilometres south of the city and offers both, international and domestic flights.

A taxi can take you directly to the venue. The journey typically takes approximately 16-20 minutes and costs about AUD 36-AUD 40, depending on the traffic.

Alternatively, you can catch a train from within the airport for a direct line to the city that runs every ten minutes or thereabouts. You can take the train from platform 1 at the airport to Museum Station. Stay on the train till you reach the Museum Station stop. Take the Castlereagh Street exit from Museum station, then turn left heading south down Castlereagh Street. At the first intersection (Castlereagh & Goulburn St.) turn right heading west down Goulburn Street 20 metres to the entrance of SMC Conference & Function Centre. From the airport, the travel time by train is approximately fifteen minutes.

There is also a shuttle bus available from in front of the arrivals hall that costs AUD 26.50 per person each way. The travel time by shuttle is approximately 25-30 minutes.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT - BY TRAIN

The City Circle is Sydney’s underground railway. It provides an easy and inexpensive way of skirting around the main city area. Museum Station is a 3-minute walk from the venue.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT - BY BUS

Sydney buses travel through and beyond the city almost 24 hours a day. Journeys are "prepaid only". There are ticket outlets all over the city and you can usually find one near bus stops. Museum Station stop is a 3-minute walk from the venue.

Sydney Buses operate services in the following four regions:

Tickets:

  • sections 1-2 single = AUD 2.20
  • sections 3-5 single = AUD 3.60
  • sections 6+ single = AUD 4.60

There is also a free Sydney CBD shuttle bus (Route 555) that operates every 10 minutes on a circuit from Central Station to Circular Quay, along George and Elizabeth Streets arriving at Town Hall Station. From Town Hall Station it is a 7-minute walk to the venue. The service operates from 9.30am to 3.30pm on weekdays (with a late finish at 9pm on Thursday evenings) and from 9.30am to 6pm on weekends.
